Opening February, 2010 at Charleston’s Cigar Factory
The story of two peninsulas and gifts from the sea.
Introdacqua, Italy. It was love at first sight for Chef Ken Vedrinski when he visited his maternal homeland in the Abruzzo region of Italy. It’s no wonder. Introdacqua and Charleston have a lot in common. They share amore per il cibo e l’amore della vita (love of food and love of life).
Both cities rest on peninsulas – surrounded by two rivers and are near the beach (the Adriatic and Atlantic, respectively). Both are in the South of their respective countries. Both cities are known for their generous hospitality and friendliness, a vibrant agricultural industry, rich culinary traditions and engaging festivals. Both are historic destinations. The lucky residents of Introdacqua and Charleston enjoy access to bountiful fresh seafood. And both can claim Chef Ken Vedrinski.
Serendipity? Vedrinski believes he’s been gifted by the coincidence of his home and his homeland. Whether good fortune, good karma, destiny, or dumb luck, the kismet intersection of passions and talent, his today and yesterday, will crystallize into wondrous Italian seafood at tomorrow’s – Introdacqua.
